This month's #SheIsSEMA Member Spotlight goes out to Aliceje Keyburn of Race Winning Brands. Check out her Q&A with SEMA and the SBN below:
The best advice I ever received was…
1. Not to let anyone tell you "you can't" do something. If you believe in it, speak up and fight for it. If it doesn't work out, at least you know you tried and won't be second guessing what if. You learn from it and do it better the next round.
2. Not to be forgettable; get out in front of people - network. For future jobs or collaborations -- it's a small industry.
This keeps me in the industry:
My passion for both powersports and automotive. I love being around like-minded people who I can talk with, collaborate, walk shows/go to races with or even go ride with (dirt bikes). Also, I am fortunate enough to work in an environment that allows for me to be creative and let me do my thing. I feel respected by my peers and that they value what I have to say and the ideas I present.
On a Saturday, you can find me…
Either working on freelance, the beach or a motorcycle race/car show.
When going into an important meeting I am always…
I am always open-minded and thinking of possible solutions that may have been overlooked in certain situations. I also try to keep to the point and if I am not sure about something, I will research and present at the next meeting or follow-up by email as to not waste anyone's time.
If I could go to lunch with one industry leader, living or dead, it would be…
Jeremy Clarkson. I think he would be a good mix of entertaining and insightful. I am sure he has some good stories about his travels around the world and the real "behind the scenes" tales of the cars and mishaps that have happened.
