LEAH HALL

The SEMA Businesswomen's Network (SBN) named LEAH HALL as this week's #SheIsSEMA spotlight member.

Learn about LEAH HALL in her interview with SEMA below.

How many years have you been with your current company and what do you enjoy most about working there?

2-1/2 years. Everyday I learn something new about auto care and the industry. I love the fact that this industry is all about TOYS! From classic cars, motorcycles, offroad trucks, race cars, to the hot new cars on the market.

What is most challenging part of running your business or job?

The fact that I work with literally thousands of products, there is so much to know!

How many years have you been in the industry and what was your first industry job?

I actually mainly worked in the MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) industry in the past, this is my first automotive industry job.

What are three qualities that got you to where you are today? How have these qualities benefited you?

Adaptive.. I'm always on a quest to do things more efficiently, so I can grow both, personally, and our business can grown. Inquisitive.. I love learning new things. Positive.. I tend to look at challenges as something to successfully navigate through and make us stronger.

Being a woman in the industry, what have been your biggest challenges and accomplishments? Do you have a specific situation that comes to mind?

I think most women in automotive have a tough time being taken serious. There has been countless times I could sense a feeling of, "what does this girl know" with a mental eyeroll.. only to find out that I do actually know a thing or two about automotive tools and the industry. I feel like I'm in full time product education.

Who are your role models or mentors in the industry? How have they helped you along the way?

I'm incredibly grateful for a colleague at Alltrade Tools, Desiree Martinez. I feel like we both have a passion for what we do and see such huge potential with our company, I really feed off her zest and energy.

What is the best career advice you have received? How has this advice helped you either professionally or personally?

I was recently told "Keep doing what you're doing. Your hustle is strong". Ha! Very Yoda of him to tell me that.. I struggle with patience and consistency, so just the simple message to keep going, helps a ton.

Have you always wanted to work in the automotive industry? What keeps you here?

I kind of fell into it.. I instantly thought, "umm.. why would I want to do that?" As soon as I was sent the job description, I said Yes.. This is it. This sounds awesome.

Who was the most influential person on your career/goals?

Honestly, my daughter! She is 9 years old and the fiercest little lady I've ever met. I've learned so much from her confidence (between us), she's the one that rules the house.
